Living History~

Last Friday Olivia & I joined
some school and home school groups
for a 'tour' of living history
through the civil war.
It was a great learning time~
Here's a few snapshots
This first area was all about the 'dress'
of the era.  Fascinating how many
layers...the women wore~
The corsets were pulled tight~
And petticoats were added~
She's ready~
The medical tent gave
information on the battlefield wounds~
Some pretty descriptive language
but still fascinating how they treated
injuries with what they had available~

In this area it was all about the
Union & Confederate uniforms~
And, firing off those muskets.

We also learned all about the beautiful
calvary horses and the ladies that rode them.
A favorite for Olivia, of course~

What fun, and it is a reminder to me of the years our oldest son and our only daughter reenacted the CW. You are blessed to have such a group close by, I think! Missed you today and I'm hoping all's well. God bless you till next time, Jennifer...this is such a busy time putting up 'stores' for the winter months :)

A change of seasons~

Where we live, in our mountain home, the seasons are changing.  Already we have had snow dust the mountains more than once this fall....
