Hey, Hey, Hey~

Or in this case

hay, hay, hay~

A local farmer, Mr. Lambert,
grows some nice fields of alfalfa & timothy grass...

It's been an awful dry year and he told us he
was down 50% of his normal crop this year.
This was the second and last cuttings for him.

Thankfully,
we were on his list!
We loaded up about 52 bales
for our sweet goats to munch on this winter.

We're into our second year now with goats
and enjoy it.
Our current milking goat, Tippy, is
still giving 1/2 gallon of milk a day even though
she didn't kid this last spring.

WOW!

Don't ask me how she does it.
I'm not sure.
Maybe it's the herbals, or getting out of the pen
once in awhile, or the yummy corn husks she
gets once in awhile?

She's been milking for 16 months now!

However, as anyone would be...she's due for a break.
I hate thinking of not having her
delicious milk, but...

It's always an adventure...with goats!

A change of seasons~

Where we live, in our mountain home, the seasons are changing.  Already we have had snow dust the mountains more than once this fall....
