...that all the cats were hanging pretty close to the house
due to the cold, snowy weather.
But the other day,
this little one
 |
| Tiffany (otherwise known as Tiffy) |
somehow got 'missplaced'.
We're not sure of exactly what happened,
but we do have our 'thoughts' on the matter.
However, the story will forever be
kept a secret by kitty, I'm afraid.
The facts as we do know them:
Kitty 'disappeared for 3 days and 2 nights.
Not unusual for cats, I know.
But, unusual for this one,
given her nature and the time of year...
She's always the one
begging at the door to come in...
staying close to home,
and following her brother everywhere.
So as the story goes,
she never came in Sunday night
even though we called and called
and searched and searched...
in the garage, in the barn, under the hood of cars...
There just isn't anywhere for her to go out here.
Plus, it's downright COLD, freezing, in fact here!
Did she run off? (doubtful)
Or did one of the bald eagles carry her off? (possibly)
Or coyotes? (another possibility)
By Tuesday afternoon, due to the freezing temperatures,
we thought her gone for good.
And,
then...when coming home in the dark late Tuesday night,
the boys,
who were plugging in a battery for the car,
heard something~
a coyote perhaps?
a rabbit in distress?
(their hunter 'ears' are always on around here)
No,
it was, in fact,
a kitty,
What?
A KITTY?
Yes, meowing,
and,
running,
yes,
running
and,
jumping into welcoming arms!
Quite a little miracle!
Of course, the 'true' story remains HER secret.

She was pretty content to remain at home today~
